Basic Trig Functions:

Many problems in calculus can be solved with an understanding of the basic trigonometric functions shown here.

In trigonometry, angles are defined either in degrees or in radians, where 180° = Π radians.

All basic trig functions start off with the equation of a circle: x 2 + y 2 = r 2 .

The key trigonometric functions are

  • sine
  • cosine
  • tangent
  • cotangent
  • secant
  • cosecant
